Cookies

I made cookies last Thursday. I started at 6:30 am and finished at 10:30 pm. That included mixing dough, cleaning, baking, cleaning, mixing icing, cleaning, icing cookies, cleaning, and feeding and taking care of Luke in between. It was a long day.

Talking in Cursive

Yesterday, Will and I were joking about having to go the doctor at least once a week. And he jokingly cast the demon of sickness out of the house followed by a prayer that he learned in Indonesia (his talking in tongues joke). Anna was sitting in the living room with us not really paying attention to what we were saying. Then she turned, looked at me, and said, "Daddy is talking in cursive." Will and I both laughed hysterically.

I made this cake for Uncle Charlie's Birthday. We celebrated it on Thanksgiving. The kids had fun eating the bees.

Luke Learns To Kick

Jay Walking

Last Saturday we spent the morning Jay Walking. We left some bags of information at the homes of new residents in Jay. Then, as part of the 'Take Pride in Jay Day' we walked to the park from the church picking up trash. Here are a few of the pictures.

Cutie Lukie

Here are a few new pictures of Luke. He grows so fast.

Anna's spots

Anna has new spots that showed up a few days ago. They are not like the ones she gets in the Spring. So, Will has her at the doctor right now.

Isabelle's Cheer Camp

We signed Isabelle up for a week long cheer camp where the high school cheer leaders work with the elementary girls to learn cheers. On Friday night at the home game during half time they let the little girls go onto the field and cheer with the cheer leaders. Isabelle is loving it.

Flu Babies

The doctor thinks the girls have the flu. Fortunately this strain that has been going around is mild in comparison to the seasonal flu. It mainly causes fever and belly ache and cough. Not so much the aches and pains that the seasonal flu causes. We will find out tomorrow for sure when the test results come back. Our doctors office makes anyone with a cough and fever wear the face masks. They were a little big, but the girls did okay with them. So far Luke is good, I have had to fight constantly to keep the girls away from him, but so far so good. And he is breastfed so hopefully we'll miss this round with him.

Wedding Reception Cake

I did this cake a while back and forgot to post it. I know some people had asked to see it.

Conversations with Isabelle

Isabelle: Did Wicky have to get his mouth washed out with soap a lot when he was little?
Mommy: Just sometimes. Why?
Isabelle: Just wondering.
Mommy: Do you think he was bad and said ugly things a lot?
Isabelle: Well, he just blows bubbles all the time.

Dad, will you please quit?

PROOF

Here is the proof that Will actually got on the tea cups. But he wouldn't even let his 4-year old daughter turn it.

Swine Flu According to Isabele

Isabelle: I think Meghan has the swine flu.
Anna: How did she get that?
Isabelle: She got near a Swine.
Mommy: What is a swine, Isabelle?
Isabelle: You remember the Swan Princess movie?
Mommy: Yes
Isabelle: That is a swine. She got near one of those.

Fall 2009 Disney Trip (UPDATED 10-03-09 with More Pictures)

Photos from our Fall 2009 Disney Vacation

**UPDATE 10-03-09**
Today we began the day visiting Disney's Animal Kingdom. Anna was just a hair too short to ride Expedition Everest but Isabelle rode it again and loved it. Well, at least she said she loved it. The finger nail marks on my arm may prove otherwise. We rode the Kali River Rapids, met some characters and then left to go to the Magic Kingdom. We only stayed at the Magic Kingdom for an hour before we had to head over to Chef Mickey's for our dinner reservations. We arranged for them to bring a cake to the table for Kate. She was not surprised since Isabelle kind of let the secret get out. We ended the evening by watching the Wishes fireworks show from the balcony at the Contemporary Resort.
**UPDATE 10-02-09
We are having a great time at Disney World. After going on a few rides at the Magic Kingdom this morning, Isabelle started running a mild fever. We brought her to the First Aid Center and took her temperature. They gave her some Tylenol and she felt much better. We had lunch at the Coral Reef in EPCOT. The steak was good, but the were a little skimpy with the French Fries.

Diaper Cakes

Here is my first attempt at a diaper cake. I think it turned out well (even though it was an Alabama theme). We had a baby shower at church on Sunday and the theme was Alabama. I almost put an Auburn toy in the back; but I didn't.

Funny Luke

Good Big Sister!

The other day Will had put Luke on the floor in the changing pad, because it isn't safe to leave him unattended on the table. While I was cleaning out Anna's bedroom, Will found Anna reading to Luke. This went on for quite a while before he got fussy. Even when he started fussing, Anna just kept on "reading" to him and telling him that it was okay. Very sweet times.

Smiles

A few days ago I thought Luke smiled at me, but I couldn't get him to do it again. Then, this morning before school, the girls were talking to him and he smiled at Anna three or four times then at Isabelle two times. They were making a high pitched "hey" sound that he thought was funny. Here he is with a big grin for Anna. Somehow my camera didn't take the pictures of Isabelle making him smile. I'll try again this afternoon for that one.

Isabelle's Tooth

As most of you heard (because Isabelle insisted on calling everyone she could think of), Isabelle lost her first tooth yesterday. We noticed last week that it was loose and we told her to wiggle it all the time and it would eventually fall out. Well... yesterday on our way home from shopping, Isabelle started to panick in the back seat and I looked back to see what was wrong. She, without moving her mouth said, "my tooth, my tooth." She, evidently had been chewing on a straw and jerked it out of her mouth and in doing so, ended up pulling out her tooth. Isabelle insisted that she was never going to lose another tooth (oh the drama). After finding the tooth (as it had fallen into the carseat) and convincing Isabelle that she didn't have a choice and the rest of her teeth would in fact fall out whether she wanted them to or not, Isabelle's mood improved and she was much happier.

Luke

Here is a cute picture that we took of Luke after he went swimming at Nana's house for the first time. He is so handsome!

Technotard

TECHNOTARD: (adj.) used to describe someone who is technologically retarded.

Thanks for the laugh Mrs. Betty Jo!

Luke's 1st Day of PEACE!

Bless his heart, Luke might have some peace today (at least for a few hours this morning). Pray for him. He either has really bad gas that Mylicon doesn't help with or he is getting acid reflux. I see several of the signs that the girls had.

Anna's 1st Day of Pre-K

Anna woke up excited too! She came around the corner and hollered BOO because she could see that her daddy was awake and ironing clothes in our bedroom. I wish she'd wake up that happy every morning. She was a little more apprehensive about me leaving than Isabelle was. But she knows her teacher from church and has several friends in her class so there were no tears shed.

Please pray for Anna that she doesn't get in trouble and that she has a positive attitude toward school.

Isabelle's 1st Day of 1st Grade

Isabelle was so excited. She was out of bed the first time Anna went into her room. We didn't have to beg her to get up. The first graders at our school have a long walk from where the car riders get dropped off to where their class rooms are. So, I walked her to class this morning and made her lead the way so that I would know she knew where she was going. She only had to ask directions once.
Please keep her in your prayers today as she starts a new year with a new teacher and new kids.

Luker or Wukee

Here is a picture of Luke with his eyes wide open. The girls for some reason refuse to call anyone by their name. They are always making up nicknames for people. Before Luke was born Anna was calling him Lukee. Only she has trouble saying her L's so it come out sounding like Wukee. Isabelle has recently started calling him Luker. So, between the two girls, he may never be called by his name.
